The Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines will host an Industry & Student Mixer on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Klaus Advanced Computing Building, Rooms 1116 East & West.
The event will provide an overview of the broad research areas in IRIM, followed by a speed-networking event: Every five minutes our industry guests will have the opportunity to speak to a different student.
Representatives from the robotics and automation industries will meet talented M.S. and Ph.D. robotics students enrolled in engineering programs in Mechanical, Electrical & Computer, Aerospace, and Biomedical, as well as those enrolled in Computer Science. Additionally, this year you will have the opportunity to meet undergraduate students in the RoboJackets club. They participate in robotics-related competitions around the world every year. The group as a whole is a mixture of students nearing graduation, mid-career students looking for internship opportunities, and new students hoping to find promising research directions.
IRIM will also provide additional information about the benefits of joining our Industrial Affiliates program, which includes:
- Participation in IRIM’s Industry Showcase during Spring Semester 2020
- Direct access to graduate students in the robotics program
- Streamlined internship opportunities
- Access to robotics faculty with IRIM acting as a matchmaker
